Christmas Minus One is a quiet and reflective service that encourages us to remember our loves ones who will not be with us at Christmas, whether there was a miscarriage, sudden or tragic death, death in later life or an argument in the family or friendship that has caused estrangement. Carols are sung that express our heartache and seek God’s help and support. Prayers are offered for those who we miss, and there is a chance to light a candle in memory of them. The service is one of hope, despite our sadness. After the service you are invited to join us for mince pies and refreshments.Carols by candlelight is a traditional carol service with a choir to sing along with and listen to. There will be familiar Bible readings of the story of Jesus’ birth and a Christmas message of hope. After the service, you are invited to join us for mince pies and refreshments, including mulled wine. The Christmas Day service is a fun and light-hearted celebration of Jesus’ birth that happened about 2000 years ago – it’s his birthday party and everyone is invited! There will be favourite carols, an encouraging Christmas message and a joyful atmosphere. Because people need to travel or cook, we will keep the service short, lasting about 45 minutes.
